• Type and Action: This is a reverse-acting disc, where pressure is applied to the concave side. When the pressure reaches the rated value, the disc shears along a precise semi-circular score to provide a full and instantaneous opening for pressure release.
• Applications: The SANITRX HPX model is specifically designed for sanitary and hygienic applications in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, food, and beverage industries. It meets stringent ASME BPE standards, is suitable for clean-in-place (CIP) and sterilize-in-place (SIP) processes, and can withstand sterilization temperatures up to 130°C.

  • Size: 1-1/2 inches (40 mm).
  • Material: 316/316 stainless steel with a Viton® gasket/seal.
  • Rated Pressure: 2.91 bar gauge (barg) at a temperature of 129 degrees Celsius.
  • Usage: Intended for gas use only. It is important to note that a disc designed for gas/vapor only may not function correctly in liquid applications.
• BDI Indicator: The disc includes a BDI® (Burst Disc Indicator) system. This alarm system provides an immediate alert (via an electrical signal to a control system) when the disc ruptures, allowing the operator to take quick corrective action and minimize product or valuable gas loss.
